Managing your appointment using DrDoctor

We appreciate that many patients have been waiting a long time to receive an appointment or treatment at The Walton Centre and we are working on providing appointment and treatment dates for patients as quickly as possible.

To ensure that we have the correct patients waiting for appointments or treatment, we are validating our waiting lists to ensure that patients who are currently on our waiting lists still need to be seen at The Walton Centre, as we are aware that their circumstances may have changed since they were last seen by a clinician or GP. We will be doing this by texting patients a link, via our Patient Portal so please look out for a text from us!

If you do receive a text message (please see the example, pictured) from the number: +447860 039092, please do not ignore it – your response will be crucially important to help us manage our waiting list.

Depending on your response, you will either remain on our waiting list or we will be in touch with you again in the coming weeks with information on next steps.

Please note that any comments attached to your response will only be used to manage our waiting lists and therefore, may not be reviewed by a clinician.

Text confirmation and reminder messages

The Walton Centre is now offering some patients confirmation and reminders of their appointment by text message or via push notifications via the NHS App.

For Outpatient and Neurophysiology patients, once their appointment has been booked, their confirmation will come via text rather than letter. Should the text not be received or read, a letter will still be sent.

Patients will receive two text reminders before their appointments, at 14 days and either seven or three days.

If you do not automatically receive text messages to remind you of your appointment and you would like to, enquire about it to your care team during your visit and make sure we have an up-to-date mobile phone number registered for you.

Text reminders will come from this number 07860 039092, links sent to you from this number can be trusted.

If you no longer wish to receive text reminders, you can end the service at any time by replying STOP or speaking to our Patient Access Centre.

Patients for other areas will continue to receive confirmation via letter at this stage.
